When the students at the Weber Valley Detention Center are asked this month: “What did you do during summer break?” They can answer: “A lot!”

Thanks to funding with the Utah State Board of Education, these students participated in numerous art and other type of programs.

The students took classes in:
- Watercolor art
- Drums and Music
- Storytelling and writing
- Drawing
- Video game design
- Hip Hop Dance
- Chalk Art
- And more
Kingi Tonga, JJS Supervisor at Weber Valley said he felt the activities helped inspire and develop the gifts of the students. Tonga went on to say “we need more of these activities at our facility.”
